Successful ʀᴇᴠᴇɴɢᴇ on Italian soil, Maguire has a sᴜʀᴘʀɪsᴇ Euro 2024 expression in Germany

Harry Maguire insists that he has consistently outperformed expectations for England and that failing to win the 2024 European Championship would be a “failure.”

The 30-year-old also believes he still has an impact at Manchester United, despite spending a significant amount of the season in disfavor there.

England won 2-1 in Naples on Thursday night to start their Euro 2024 qualification campaign with three points. The much-maligned center-back was at fault for Italy’s goal.

With 54 England caps, Maguire appears to still be a key part of Southgate’s plans as the new tournament season gets underway.

The 30-year-old, who is considered one of the establishment’s elder statesmen, thinks that failing to advance past Euro 2020 and bring the European Championship trophy home from Berlin next summer would be a failure.
